PICKLEBALL Programs.

PICKLEBALL: Beginner Learn and Play

Instruction supervised and provided by IPTPA/USPTA, Certified Instructors for adult beginners. Learn basic paddle skills, shots, doubles rules and tactics.  Learn to set up and manage play. Group instruction: Minimum 6 - Maximum 12 per class. (16 at Casamento Park). Adults 18 and over.
Equipment is provided.  Players are encouraged to bring their own Pickleball paddles.

PICKLEBALL: Organized Open Play
Matches takes place with organized rotations. 

No instruction. Guidance on scoring, rules, serving, rotating and general play will be provided. 

Adults 18 and over.

Fees:

  • 2.0 Group: September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

This session is perfect for players who have completed Islip beginner classes and are familiar with Pickleball rules, scoring, and basic tactics. It is designed for players with a skill level up to 2.0. Based on the organizer’s assessment, participants may be asked to move to the Advanced Beginner+ session.

Important Note:

  • No instruction will be provided during this session.
  • Participants who do not meet the requirements will not be allowed to participate.

This session is tailored for players who have some experience and regularly play Pickleball. Participants should be familiar with the rules, scoring, and tactics. It is intended for players with a skill level ranging from 2.5 to 3.0. Higher-level players are welcome to join, provided they understand the program’s intended focus.

Important Note: Anyone who registers and does not meet the level requirements may be asked to move to the 2.0 session.

About Levels:

The following information is provided to help players place themselves in the correct class level.

Beginner Classes

Learn basic paddle skills, shots, doubles rules and tactics. Game play every session. Learn to set up and manage play. Equipment is provided. Players are encouraged to bring their own Pickleball paddles.

Adv. Beginner Classes

Learn next level paddle skills, shots, doubles rules and tactics. Game play every session.
Players must provide own equipment.

Please note: Advanced beginners have some playing experience, know Pickleball rules and how to score and is ideal for players who have taken Islip and Smithtown beginner classes.
Anyone who registers and does not meet the requirements will not be allowed to participate.

Open Play Program

Matches take place with organized rotation.
No instruction. Guidance on scoring, rules, serving, rotating and general play will be provided.

Open Play Program Level Guidelines:

2.0 - Beginner session:

Players need to know fundamentals, rules and scoring. Skill rating up to 2.0 . Player not sure of level should register for this session.

2.5+ - Advanced Beginner+:

Skill rating 2.5+.
